I lived with heavy periods for 33 years. When I was young my periods lasted for five days, but as I got older they started lasting seven, eight, nine days. It seemed to get worse and worse the older I got. Once I hit about 40 it was unbelievable. It was hard to do anything.

I went on birth control. The only alternative I was given was a hysterectomy, and I wasn’t ready for that. I didn’t realize there was an option such as NovaSure endometrial ablation until I saw an advertisement on television about heavy bleeding. I went to the NovaSure website and got a brochure to get more information and decided to have the procedure.

After the procedure, I took some pain medicine and had no pain. I took it easy the next day and the following day I was up and doing what I needed to do. For me, it was a piece of cake compared to having a period every month. I have not had one period since I had the procedure.

I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from heavy periods. It wouldn’t matter what it costs, it was worth every penny.
